ALERT, ALERT: NEW MISSY ELLIOTT VIDEO

Missy Elliot has made her official return, and it is fucking excellent.

The legendary rapper/producer just released a new single and accompanying video, “WTF (Where They From),” feat. Pharrell Williams, via her brand new Instagram page. The track is percussive and ebullient, but the video, especially, is a dance-heavy dip dive into a fresher, tighter version of the early aughts, with Les Twins and Sharaya J, Missy’s protege, dancing behind her.

The makeup/styling is especially noteworthy, but the best part, maybe, are the marionettes that shake through Pharrell’s verse:

Elliott hasn’t set a date for the release of her upcoming studio album, her seventh LP and her first in a decade, but we can most likely expect it in early 2016. Very Exciting.
