Carly Rae Jepsen Adds Some Smooth Jazz Sax to Wham's 'Last Christmas'

Despite what some people might say about it, I have a soft spot for Wham!’s “Last Christmas” and all covers that have followed it. It’s such a terrible Christmas song, mostly because it doesn’t make a ton of sense—the singer is upset because he/she was broken up with the day after Christmas, and this year they’d like to avoid that trap—but it seems self-aware of its terribleness, you know? Anyhow, appropriately, Carly Rae Jepsen has chosen to lend her deeply pop vocals to the track, and her version sounds like it could be on the soundtrack for the inevitable third remake of About Last Night. Even though I’ll be hearing it in every H&M for the next two months, I’m not mad.
