Macklemore married longtime girlfriend Tricia Davis in 2015 and, for Valentine’s Day, released “Spoons,” a song about the more mundane sexual aspects of being involved in a longtime relationship, including a perhaps made-up scenario about getting mad that she watched ahead in Game of Thrones without him but getting over it after she gives him a hand job. There’s also a part about how she takes a shit with the door open. Is this what longtime love is? Are we all aspiring to this?

Ryan Bedard, who sings the vulnerable and mildly squeaky hook, recalls the jokier corporate alternative bands of the mid-1990s and also lends credence to the theory, if you had it, that Macklemore is very much a 2016 Tripping Daisy (or a 2016 Spacehog or, most especially, a 2016 Sublime). Which is all fine and very particular to the spooning unity of Macklemore and Tricia Davis, but the main thing is: how is this our business? It’s not, though the Game of Thrones watch-ahead line might be the most relatable Macklemore has ever been. If you are very interested to hear this dude talking about his boner, go forth!:
