At Tokyo Fashion Week, designer Jotaro Saito showed a new collection of kimonos—his specialty—and lush shawl-collared jackets atop a blanket of fog, a little magic in his work which presents traditional clothing “as fashion that compliments contemporary space.”

Big on drama, models walked on a runway carpeted with an abstract black-and-white design, leading one look to turn almost camouflage in its midst.
