Tom Ford's Runway Show Was a Video Starring Lady Gaga

Tom Ford: aside from the $7000 mini-clutch purses, he’s just like us in that he seems to be very weary of Fashion Week proper. In lieu of a show this year, Ford presented fashion as most of us consume it: online, via video, to a Lady Gaga song.

With Paris Fashion Week well into its third day, the designer known for his sleek, sophisticated instincts dropped this video of his Spring 2016 collection, with Gaga covering Chic’s “I Want Your Love” and a gaggle of models showing off the flashy-chic disco vibes of his new designs and also their dance skills, which is much less stressful to watch than you might anticipate.

Ford’s vision of the modern, sexy, and very wealthy woman this time around comes with silvery accents, and it’s Studio 54-influenced but not in any obvious way—Studio 54-influenced insofar that all of his clothing looks made for rich nightlife people from the Upper East Side and Paris’s fancier arrondissements (I don’t know which ones are the fanciest, sorry) doing glam afterhours shit. Of course I want all of it, but especially his signature fuck-me pumps, with their sensual toe point and restrained/suggestive thick ankle strap giving power-domme vibrations. I’ll call you if I actually procure any of these after marrying a French business magnate, or inheriting a fortune I didn’t know I had.
