Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves Can't Stand Each Other in Trailer for Destination Wedding and It's Beautiful

Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves make a sweet crotchety couple in the trailer for Destination Wedding, which is a great title (perhaps the greatest) for a romcom. Be still my cantankerous heart.

IndieWire describes their cynical characters, Frank and Lindsay, as “a pair of finicky guests who meet at a destination wedding in which both of them feel supremely awkward (for different reasons, as Ryder’s character appears to have a personal connection to the groom that’s as uncomfortable as it gets).” A sample exchange:

Lindsay (Ryder): “Don’t you believe there’s someone for everyone?”

Frank (Reeves): “Close. I believe that there’s nobody for anyone.”

Ah, love!

As a lover of good and bad romcoms alike, this is my kind of movie and one in which Reeves’ blank expressions and dry delivery are best put to use. He’s like a bearded Oscar the Grouch.
