Y/N: Christina Milian and Lil Wayne's 'Drunk in Love' Fails Miserably

EntertainmentMusic

N: Christina Milian and Lil Wayne, who I guess are aiming to be the ’15 Bonnie & Clyde, dropped an unauthorized remix of “Drunk In Love” for his new mixtape. It starts off with Wayne sloppily rapping (and slinging his dick with reckless abandon): “I woke up in that pussy and started stroking.” It follows with Milian’s dry vocals. It is categorically bad. [Necole Bitchie]

Y: But DJ Mustard’s Mustardized, electrified remix of Beyoncé’s “7/11” is actually tolerable and remains worthy of my poor, uncoordinated apartment dancing. [Billboard]

N: Meghan Trainor and her ukulele performed a stale, countrified version of 5SOS’s “Don’t Stop.” I prefer the original. [Billboard]

Y: Stereogum describes this Toro Y Moi song “Empty Nesters” as “sunshine-drenched guitar-pop tune that could pass for Pavement or Neutral Milk Hotel.” Yeah. Basically it’s some California surf shit. [Stereogum]

Y: The retro filter and all the romantic bike-riding shots and whatever in the “Day Go By” video from Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O makes me want to go watch Wonder Years. [Consequence of Sound]

Y: Hillary’s judging me, but the rhythm on this “Planes” song by Jeremih, who’s supremely underrated, is so addicting. Who can resist this: “Got your legs in the sky like a plane/ Let me guide that like a pilot.” Then J. Cole raps, “Dick so big, it’s like a foot is in your mouth,” which I find highly unlikely. [Consequence of Sound]

Y: Frank Ocean <3 <3 covered my favorite Aaliyah song, “At Your Best (You Are Love),” which is itself a cover of an Isley Brothers classic. Frank’s shimmering falsetto is just as pretty on this version but a little more gentle. [Tumblr]

N: We don’t need this B.o.B remix of Nick Jonas’ “Jealous.” [Idolator]

N: A woman named Phoebe Ryan mashed up R. Kelly’s “Ignition” with Miguel’s gorgeous ballad “Do You,” which is something I disagree with on principle alone, although the song is okay. [Billboard]

Y: The dancer in Majid Jordan’s video for “Forever” reminds me of those kids I see practice pop-locking on the A train. He glides through lobbies, a laundromat, etc. It’s giving me Jamiroquai and I dig Jamiroquai. [Miss Info]
