Would You Do the Westworld Thing We Just Found Out You Can Maybe Do Despite Minor Glitches?

Sunday’s episode of Westworld, “The Riddle of the Sphinx,” gave you (me) that follow-up panic attack to your (my) “San Junipero” episode of Black Mirror-related meltdown.

Spoilers, mmkay?

On this week’s Westworld Conspiracy Corner, Deputy Editor Julianne Escobedo Shepherd and I discuss the Lost-esque portrayal of a bot gone mad, whether or not we would invest in a similar procedure for ourselves, Bernard’s freaky time jumping, who is the person in the little red ball, why does Elsie look so amazing after being trapped in a cave for like four episodes, what is up with the Man in Black and his daughter, and how freaking excited are you for Shogun World in slightly less than one week???

Let us get into it.

Hell-iph-I-Kno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I LOVE Elsie! Goddamn I am so glad what was lost is found.

Interesting that Elsie has interacted significantly with Dolores, Teddy, Maeve, Clementine, and even Peter Abernathy — all players (willing or not) in the host rebellion. Granted she was Bernard’s right hand but then good ol’ boss strangled her into submission so that respect had a reason to drop. And she also took it pretty easy realizing Bernie is a super host, which I find a a bit odd. She knows hosts inside & out and she damn good at coding behavior & such but ear jabbing her boss with a hot spike of craniofluid doesn’t give her any pause as to how fuk’d it all is was bizarre.
