Adrian Grenier Is ONLY the Shitty Boyfriend in The Devil Wears Prada to Me

It was recently brought to my attention that Entourage premiered today, July 18, in 2004, making the series 14 years old. I have never seen the show though I am aware it stars the actor Adrian Grenier, which is confusing since in my brain he is exclusively Nate, the boyfriend in The Devil Wear’s Prada.

If you’ve seen the film you know that Nate is the handsome, down-to-earth chef who dates the movie’s star Andy (Anne Hathaway) who continues to suffer as the assistant to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep.) But he’s also an uppity lil’ bitch who thinks fashion is stupid, yet he’s probably making $50 grilled cheeses at Balthazar or something. Let Andy have the Chanel, Nate!

And the movie’s screenwriter knows that Nate gets a lot of hate. “I have to say, that character was the biggest challenge to write, and oddly, the character [director David Frankel] and I talked about the most,” screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna told Entertainment Weekly in 2017. “Because we wanted to make sure he wasn’t a pain in the ass, but he is the person who is trying to say, ‘Is this who you want to be morally?’”

Congrats to Adrian Grenier on Entourage, a show that I think (?) is a comedy about men who spend their days drinking cans of Natty Lite under the Hollywood sign, but you will always be the shitty boyfriend from The Devil Wears Prada to me.
