Alexander McQueen Is Auctioning Off 3 Pairs of Iconic Armadillo Boots

Entertainment

Just months before his death in February 2010, Alexander McQueen debuted the now-legendary Armadillo Boots in an astonishing Spring 2010 ready-to-wear runway show titled Plato’s Atlantis.

The boots are insane, and almost impossible to wear—in fact, they were never actually produced for retail; only 21 pairs currently exist. Lady Gaga, Daphne Guinness, and Kelis are among the few celebrities who have been seen in them.

The fashion house recently announced on Instagram that they have produced three brand-new pairs of the boots, which are currently being auctioned off in the Christie’s Handbags & Accessories Auction running today through Thursday, July 23rd. According to Christie’s, 100% of proceeds will be donated to the UNICEF earthquake relief effort in Nepal.

If you are interested in crippling yourself and have $10,000 + to spare, head on over to the Christie’s website to place your bid!
