America's Best Top Chris Unravels Murders and Junk in the Trailer for I Am the Night

Entertainment

The trailer for Patty Jenkins’ new miniseries has arrived, and it features plenty of Hollywood’s Greatest Chris regnant, Chris Pine.

I Am the Night—previously titled One Day She’ll Darken, after the autobiography it’s adapted from—appears to be a true-crime thriller about a young, white-passing woman named Fauna Hodel (India Eisley) raised by an adoptive black mother in Nevada who goes searching for the truth of her identity only to discover that said truth might have something to do with the murder of Elizabeth Short, aka the Black Dahlia, and also she might be white.

The Crème de la Chris plays Jay Singletary, a washed up journalist who had been reporting on George Hill Hodel, one of the prime suspects in the Black Dahlia murder case who also happened to be accused of sleeping with his daughter, Tamar, who just! so! happens! to be Fauna’s birth mother. I don’t know what’s a spoiler! This is all extremely googleable information! Jay meets up with Fauna, and the plot thickens. Lots of ominous whispering. Lots of thinly veiled threats. Lots of Chris Pine, doing great. Both Jenkins and Pine are executive producers on the project.

Watch the trailer below, and catch all six episodes of I Am the Night January 2019 on TNT.
