Bitch, It's Cardi!

Entertainment

Cardi B, rapper and salad aficionado, living, breathing, very pregnant wonder, now has two No. 1 hits, which makes her the first woman rapper in history to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart twice.

“I Like It,” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin, took the top spot on the Hot 100 this week—becoming the second No. 1 song from Cardi’s debut album Invasion of Privacy. Once again, she has made history.

As if dominating the rap game weren’t enough, she’s also the first woman artist in any genre to have more than one No. 1 single on her debut album since Lady Gaga did it with The Fame in 2009. There’s a deeper breakdown of all the records Cardi broke with “I Like It” here.

Cardi’s previous chart-topper, “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” was also groundbreaking; when it went No. 1 in October 2017, she became the first solo woman rapper to top the chart in almost 20 years.

Before you celebrate—by say, twerking while pregnant—here’s a sobering thought: Cardi is only the second woman this year to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as the lead artist on a track, following Camila Cabello’s “Havana.” For 26 out of 28 weeks of the year so far, a man has topped the chart. Anyway, Cardi B is the remedy. Everybody likes it, including Cardi:
