By the Sea—the upcoming drama Angelina Jolie Pitt wrote, directed, and co-stars in with Brad Pitt—finally has a trailer, and it looks as terrible and self-indulgent as you would expect a big-budget vanity project starring one of the world’s most famous couples to look.

Here’s its official plot description:

Set in France during the mid-1970s, Vanessa, a former dancer, and her husband Roland, an American writer, travel the country together. They seem to be growing apart, but when they linger in one quiet, seaside town they begin to draw close to some of its more vibrant inhabitants, such as a local bar/café-keeper and a hotel owner.

The trailer alone is chock full o’ laughable cliches:

Old studio logo:

A miserable, alcoholic husband with writer’s block:

A miserable, pill-popping wife who cries all the time:

Pensive smoking:

Marital problems:

Beautiful scenery in which to think about one’s marital problems:

Cinematography that tries too hard:

And the damn name! Come on!

Good luck at next year’s Golden Globes, you two!
