Everyone Fashionably Celebrated Themselves at Glamour's Woman of the Year Awards

Glamour held its annual women of the year awards Monday night, and it was apparently verklempt with empowerment.

Reese Witherspoon’s speech alone made waves—“I dread reading scripts that have no women involved in their creation, because inevitably, the girl turns to the guy and says, ‘What do we do now?’”—as did, of course, fellow winner Caitlyn Jenner, who said in her acceptance speech: “When it comes to gender, everyone in this room is on a journey.”

Let’s check out their outfits, yes?

Jennifer Hudson is looking beautiful, if a little overdressed, in a sparkly mermaid concoction; Broadway bigwig Judith Light looked extremely New York Art Party cool in her two-toned asymmetrical dress; LUPITAAAA OH GOD I mean I generally always hate a peplum but this color is beautiful, the cutout is cool, her skin is glowing…it works. And then we have Madeleine Albright, no big deal, the grandest woman who ever was.

Oh wow, Iman looks extremely chic in the best ‘90s way; J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons is notably subdued, despite the feathers; Woman of the Year honoree Misty Copeland looks in-cre-di-ble in a black body-skimming number; and 14-year-old Girl Meets World actress Rowan Blanchard is teensy and cute in black and white.

U.S. women’s national soccer team forward Alex Morgan wins Best Red Ensemble in this really, really beautiful silk floral off-the-shoulders; Victoria Beckham is slinky and slightly terrifying, as always; Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards looks festive and pretty; Selena Gomez is doing a weird sexy schoolgirl thing that would be vastly improved with different shoes.

OITNB’s Dascha Polanco is trying on the white floor-length cape dress trend (honestly has any trend been weirder or more specific?), Ellie Goulding is wearing a tablecloth from Neptune, Tavi Gevinson could have used a steamer but otherwise looks very cute, and Zoe Kazan is in a very ill-fitting pair of Christmas pajamas. But I like the print, and her lipstick is good?

Oh, look, it’s Anna Wintour in the outfit she wears to everything; Gayle King is looking great in that shift dress; Jemima Kirke is actually kind of pulling off this very unflattering look, which feels very unfair; Reese Witherspoon looks Cute and Fun and Flirty but also would love to see her in something a tad more Adult.

Soccer player Abby Wambach kept it chic and simple; model Jessica Hart’s dress would have made more sense if it wasn’t November but I guess tonight’s theme is “literally wear whatever no one cares”; Jared Leto was in attendance, for some reason, looking very U2; Sophia Bush is wearing a prom dress, an enthusiastic clutch, and a troubling expression.

Crystal Renn is nailing it every which way in this sheer embellished black dress and pointy pumps; Hilary Rhoda, who recently got married and made all her bridesmaids do SoulCycle with her the next morning, is looking very much the part; a pregnant Ivanka Trump is wearing a nonthreatening gown, the grandson of the worst man who ever ran for public office, and a beatific expression; Karlie Kloss managed yet again to look perfect and appropriate, which I guess isn’t that hard when you’re a supermodel.

Caitlyn Jenner is in a custom Moschino gown and looks pretty fab; OITNB’s Danielle Brooks looks amazing from the waist up but that hemline and two-toned pattern is shrinking her; Elisabeth Moss is wearing VERY cool shoes, damn; and Latina style blogger Thassia Neves is in an H&M x Balmain dress that is already intense enough without those shoes.

Uzo Aduba looks really cute in this white peephole gown; Vera Wang looks very Fall Fashion; Viola Davis is killing it with shape, color, hair, everything; and Rachel Zoe is doing her thing, god bless.

Snaps for effort, everyone!
