If you’ve been looking for a way to rep your Game of Thrones love without looking like a huge fucking dweeb, today is your lucky day.
Per Hypebeast, the newest line of official Game of Thrones merch is a limited-edition collaboration between streetwear designers like Carrots, Billionaire Boy’s Club, ALIFE, Dee & Ricky, 40s & Shorties, Koio, and V/SUAL, and is a refreshing change of pace from the exceedingly nerdy offerings available to those who’d love to shout their affection for a TV show about dragons and inecst and fucking and political machinations via their clothing without looking like a giant goddamn nerd.
Yes, everyone wants to either be Jon Snow or to have sex with Jon Snow, but what is appealing about this shirt that says “King in the North” in the Game of Thrones font superimposed over a freakin’ direwolf head?
I get that this quote came from the inimitable Olenna Tyrell, whose life is one that I draw much inspiration from, even though she’s a fictional character with an unfortunate chapeau situation that looks kind of uncomfortable, but my God, just embody that essence without wearing it loud, like a screeching teenage Drogon looking for its mom!!
The new, hypebeast-ier, collection features designers who are all hardcore GoT fans, which means that they’ll put some actual thought—hopefully—into this shit instead of plopping quotes on a crewneck and calling it a day. The first collection, with Carrots Anwar and his wife Stella Blu, is a nice and subtle nod to Khaleesi. I’d wear it! I’d think about it at least! But, if you want to actually get your hands on this shit, you have to have the dedication of a 14-year-old boy with his parent’s credit card, sleeping on the sidewalk waiting for the next Supreme drop.
Each week, fans will have the chance to compete for an opportunity to win the merch after it’s announced via the designers’ and HBO’s social media, so be sure to follow the #RepTheRealm hashtag on Twitter for your chance claim victory and take your place on the Iron Throne of merch.
Good luck and may the gods be with you!
