GLOW's Season 3 Trailer Reveals Geena Davis As a Saucy Vegas Entertainment Director

Last we saw the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, Sam (Marc Maron) was cheerfully assuring Ruth (Alison Brie) that she will hate Vegas, which was unfortunate considering it was about to be her home for the foreseeable future. Now, a trailer for GLOW’s third season reveals that he was...wrong?

That at least appears to be the case as the trailer opens, so much so that the two toast Sam’s incorrect prediction: “It’s nice, you know. Me being wrong about you hating Vegas,” he says. But while business is good at the Fan-Tan Hotel, not everyone is having a great time. Debbie is still pretty bereft about having to leave her infant son with her shitty ex-husband, and Ruth still feels lost despite having a job and a boyfriend. When the Fan-Tan’s entertainment director, played by Geena Davis and her winged hair, suggests extending GLOW’s contract to the end of the year, it doesn’t seem like that’s what anyone wants. According to Netflix’s Official Synopsis:

Season 3 follows the ladies of GLOW as they take the Vegas strip by storm. Now headliners at the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino, the women quickly realize Sin City is much more grind than glitter. Ever the team cheerleader, Ruth’s passion for the show begins to take a backseat to her growingly complicated personal life. Debbie is making headway as a producer, but continues to be consumed with guilt over the distance between her and her son. As their residency wears on, the lines blur between performance and reality, and the cast find themselves struggling with their own identities both in and outside of the ring.

The trailer also touches on the will they/won’t they dynamic between Sam and Ruth (eyeroll), but also reveals that Arthie and Yolanda are still together (opposite of eyeroll), and that most importantly, all the ladies of GLOW still love each other. The show will be back on August 2.
