Here Is the Harrowing Trailer for Jordan Peele's New Film, Us

When the trailer for Hereditary came out last winter, I spent four months analyzing every detail only to have my mind destroyed when I finally saw the film in in its entirety. I do not learn from my mistakes, and so it appears I’ll have to do that all over again, thanks to the deeply creepy above trailer for Jordan Peele’s new horror film, Us.

The film stars Winston Duke—of M’Baka fame—and Lupita Nyong’o, who play parents of two young children who try to fend off an identical, slightly more murder-y family while on vacation in Northern California. Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker, a bloody pair of scissors, and a terrifying remix of Luniz’s “I Got 5 on It” also make appearances in the trailer.

According to Vulture, Unlike Get Out, Peele says Us isn’t a film about race, but about “a new monster.”

“Stories about monsters are one of our best ways of getting at deeper truths and facing our fears as a society,” he told reporters at a recent trailer screening, noting that Us is “about something that’s become an undeniable fact: the simple truth that we are our own worst enemies.”

Us comes out on March 15.
