Susan Sarandonâs new film The Meddlerâwhich opened at the Toronto Film Festival in the fall to strong reviews, if only for Sarandonâs performance in itâhas been perfectly timed for a full release, coming out April 22, just a couple weeks before Motherâs Day on May 8.
Written and directed by Lorene Scafaria of Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and the highly enjoyable Nick and Norahâs Infinite Playlist, the movie stars Rose Byrne as Lori and Sarandon as Marnie, Loriâs mother, who moves from New Jersey to LA after the death of her husband and... meddles in her daughterâs life. Other roles go to J.K. Simmons (who has such a quality, doesnât he?), and appearances by Cecily Strong, Casey Wilson, and Jerrod Carmichael. Okay, Iâm done, you can send this link to mom now.
