City Girls, the Miami rap duo made up of JT and Yung Miami, got their big break earlier this year when they popped up on Drake’s “In My Feelings” to teach all men to get to the point: “Fuck that Netflix and chill, what’s your networth?” But their excellent 2018 mixtape Period, named for their trademark conversation-ending statement, proved City Girls were rising stars without Champagne Papi.
The new video for City Girls’ “Not Ya Main,” a perfect diss to dudes who think they can treat you like shit as a sidepiece and suddenly expect you to be their girlfriend, is full of macrame bathing suits, palm trees, and crystal blue beach waves. And if, like me, you’re stuck currently shivering in the cold of winter, it’s a perfect few minutes of blissful escape. “Chanel, Louis, Saint Laurent,” Yung Miami raps, rattling off her favorite designer clothes. “Honestly, I do Gucci when I’m bored.” Wow, same!
