Lifetime's R. Kelly Docuseries Will Feature Input From His Alleged Sex Cult Victims' Families

R. Kelly’s time of reckoning seems to be here, and it’s growing as more women come forward with stories of sexual abuse from within and outside of his alleged sex cult. Some of the women’s families are working closely with Lifetime on its upcoming R. Kelly docuseries.

The series is currently in the works with activist and filmmaker dream hampton serving as executive producer. Tim Savage, the father of Joycelyn Savage—who in 2017 denied that she was a “hostage” living in Kelly’s alleged sex cult—is also working with Lifetime on the series, according to TMZ. (The father previously said Jocycelyn was brainwashed.)

Two other family members are involved with the docuseries as well: Michelle Gardner, the mother of Dominique Gardner (who reportedly still lives with Kelly), and Angelo Clary, the father of 20-year-old Azriel Clary. (Azriel reportedly met Kelly when she was 17 years old and moved in with him soon afterward.) TMZ notes that “one of the scenes features Michelle in LA looking for her daughter.”

Hampton told Billboard in a recent interview, “Some very brave black women have trusted us with their stories, their truth and their trauma.”
