Do you think when Lorde sings, “Oh Lord,” she’s actually saying, “Oh Lorde?”

According to Pitchfork, Lorde stopped by BBC Radio 1 Thursday morning to sing “Green Light” live, and also dropped in a few covers for crossover fans of her and Phil Collins, which I bet is actually a larger demographic than you’d initially think. The whole thing is available to listen here, but these clips gives you some sense of the magic:

Oh Lorde! She is apparently a huge fan of Collins, having told Marc Maron on his podcast that he’s the perfect man. Collins that is, not Marc Maron:

“My favorite pop males are the guys that sound like a combination of your boyfriend and your dad. That’s Phil.”

Wow, Lorde, we’re not supposed to say we’re looking for a combo of our boyfriend and our dad out loud.

that WTF interview was so great! I wasn’t the world’s biggest Lorde fan beforehand but she is a really lovely person (and genuinely, GENUINELY, loves Phill Collins)
