Lose Yourself in the Pastel Dreamscape of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 Trailer

The best thing about the trailer for Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel isn’t the cutting commentary about how men are like this and women are like that—“Comedy is fueled by disappointment and humiliation. Now who the hell does that describe more than women?” she says at one point. Revolutionary stuff. A knee-slapper. Many guffaws.

Don’t watch the second season of this show for that comedy, but do watch it for the luscious shots of a squeaky-clean and sanitized New York City in the early 1960s—pastel coats, rattan divans, and what appears to be a storyline set in Hawaii. I see leis! I see Midge Maisel’s dastardly ex-husband! I see Alex Borstein, chewing the scenery in a Newsies hat.

If you want to feel only good and not that much bad, the second season premieres on Amazon December 5.
