Mel B Insists Spice Girls Reunion Tour Really Is Happening

Entertainment

For the moment the Spice Girls seem, if it’s even possible, less relevant than usual. And I say this as someone who was a Spice Girl for Halloween once upon a time, and watched Spice World so often I came down with vicarious tour bus motion sickness. In any case, here’s the latest on the potential tour situation.

Melanie Brown (a.k.a. Mel B a.k.a. Scary Spice) announced the tour again on the Today show Wednesday. Brown told co-host Hoda Kotb, “I still do [love performing]. I’m the only one that keeps on saying, ‘We’re gonna be performing,’ which we are gonna be performing. Finally they got it together.”

This statement is at odds with former Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham’s recent insistence to Vogue that she is not going on tour. But Brown brushed off these remarks, adding, “She’s always bloody saying that…Yes, we are going to be doing performances together, for sure.”

TMZ reported in February that the group would embark upon a U.S. and U.K. tour, however Beckham’s comments, coming a few days later, somewhat deflated and confused this news. Whatever happens, we’ll always have Spice World:
