Regina Hall Is Forced to Be a Kid Again in Little, Starring Issa Rae and Marsai Martin

My real-life best friends Issa Rae (Insecure), Marsai Martin (Black-ish), and Regina Hall, who is funny and criminally underrated in everything, are starring in a body-swap comedy titled Little that’s heavy on shade.

The concept is similar to classics like 13 Going on 30 and Freaky Friday. Deadline describes Hall’s overbearing boss lady character, Jordan Sanders, as “a snarky tech mogul,” basically a screaming narcissist who’s made a habit of beLITTLING her assistant April, played by Issa Rae. As some sort of cosmic payback, Jordan magically reverts to middle-school age one day, as revealed in the trailer when April tells her, “You went to bed grown and then you woke up little. That’s for white people. ’Cause black people don’t have the time.”

This means Jordan has to give up her cushy position (because a kid can’t be a boss, unless we’re talking Boss Baby), and Issa’s character gets to step up and probably get a promotion out of this. The nice thing is that she already lives in what looks like a nice, big apartment?! Many lessons will be learned when the movie (from Girls Trip producer Will Packer), hits theaters April 12.
