Rich Homie Quan On His Rape Lyrics: 'I Was Young and Just Rapping'

Entertainment

After rapping about rape in not one but two leaked songs, Rich Homie Quan is going on record to state that he doesn’t condone said rape.

Quan initially backtracked on the lyrical raping after his song “I Made It” hit the Internet and people heard him rap: “I don’t want your ho, just want that cookie from her/ She tried to resist so I took it from her.” In another song titled “Day 1,” he raps more literally: “Mansion full of bitches, about to rape one.”

This is his response to a question from Billboard about those songs:

You apologized for a lyric on a leaked song that condoned rape, but then a second track emerged with a similar line. Do you owe people another apology?
Yes, I do. I do not condone or promote rape. I’m not a rapist. That song was recorded in December 2012. I was young and just rapping. At the time, I had no guidance in my life. I blame it on that. So I apologize once more to my fans.

Good to know he’s taking responsibility by blaming it on something else.
