Rihanna and Donald Glover Are Cooking Up Something in Cuba

Entertainment

Rihanna and Donald Glover are hanging out in Cuba for what’s rumored to be a movie shoot for director Hiro Murai’s next project. But in the words of Sister Aloysius Beauvier, “I HAVE DOUBTS!”

You might know Murai for his frequent collaborations with Glover, which includes his role as a director on Glover’s FX series Atlanta, as well as the video for “This Is America,” and now via The Fader, the Cuban music magazine Vistar reports that Murai is in Cuba shooting a film titled Guava Island. Vistar also reports that Black Panther’s Letitia Wright and Nonso Anozie are starring. (Of note: Glover will perform at Rihanna’s Diamond Ball on September 13.)

In June, Hiro Murai was in talks to make his directorial feature debut with Man Alive, a sci-fi thriller about a man in isolation after an alien invasion, and given his rising fame it’s hard to believe he’d be attached to a feature film we know absolutely nothing about so far. And if you think I’m trying to manifest the idea that this is a music video for the next Rihanna album… you would be right. Wear your pajamas inside out tonight, clutch your crystals—do whatever you need to do, please.
