There will be no more American installments of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series starring Rooney Mara. I am chunking the deuce to any and all U.S. sequels of the film and I am not sad about it.
Mara spoke to USA Today about the future films she'd hoped to star in saying, "I don't think it's going to happen. I'm sad never to do it again, but it just doesn't seem like it's in the cards."
Great, because I don't think we ever needed Rooney's version in the first place, and not because I don't like her, the younger Mara sister seems cool. However Noomi Rapace played Lisbeth Salander brilliantly several times in several films and we don't need to reheat the same TV dinner over and over, you know? I've written about this before, but good on you Hollywood … unless this is an elaborate plan to start a viral campaign to demand more Dragon Tattoo sequels, in which case, no thanks.
