Everything J.K. Rowling touches turns to gold and an adaptation for movie or television, so of course her Cormoran Strike mystery novels—written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, a ruse which lasted approximately 15 minutes—is being turned into a BBC series.
It’s called Strike, and here is the trailer for the first installment, The Cuckoo’s Calling. The books follow a detective with the frankly incredible name of Cormoran Strike, a troubled war veteran with the level of personal troubles customary for detectives in mystery novels, and also his assistant, a young woman named Robin Ellacott.
What if Rowling is also secretly writing steamy historical fiction, or spy novels, or hard science fiction?
DISCUSSION
I loooooove (it’s a lot of O’s worth) the Cormoran Strike novels, even if the last one has left me extremely angry. But no way is Cormoran Strike that attractive.
