Almost 23 years after it was originally released, The Craft is getting a remake.

Though a reboot from director Leigh Janiak was discussed in 2015, this is not that. According to Bloody Disgusting, Janiak isnā€™t attached to the project, and it wonā€™t be set 20 years in the future like it was originally going to be.

Instead, it will just be a...remake, to be produced by Blumhouse. A snippet of info reportedly attached to the Production Weekly listing says the film will be directed by Zoe Lister-Jones; sheā€™ll also be co-writing the script along with Daniel Casey, who was originally set to rewrite Leigh Janiakā€™s remake. Thereā€™s also a brief description:

ā€œA remake of the 1996 supernatural teen thriller. When starting at a new school, Hannah befriends Tabby, Lourdes, and Frankie & quickly becomes the fourth member of their Clique. Hannah soon learns that she somehow brings great power to the quartet.ā€

So the charactersā€™ names have been changed, but itā€™s unclear what else will be the same, or not. Weā€™ll probably find out more before it starts shooting in July.
