Another Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again Trailer Has Arrived

The new Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (aka “Mamma Mia! 2″) trailer is exhausting and I don’t think I’m much cut out for it. In the teaser alone there are: Pregnancy secrets! Waving fields of blonde hair extensions! Young Pierce Brosnan’s character animorphing into Pierce Brosnan’s character! Cher being sassy! Dad jokes! A wide-brimmed teal felt hat circa ’79!

Key to the understanding of this trailer is that it’s the “final trailer” and that a point of contention unearthed by the film’s promotion so far is the question of whether Meryl Streep’s character, Donna (mother of Sophia, played by Amanda Seyfried), dies. Because, based on the trailers, much of the film consists of flashbacks to Donna’s young adulthood, while Streep herself barely appears.

Did I mention Cher’s there? She plays Donna’s mother…and she wasn’t invited (but something about the diva-ness of her sunglasses tells me it will all work out).
