Gina Rodriguez and David Thewlis Have Joined Our Favorite Filthy Show Big Mouth

Entertainment

Big Mouth, Netflix’s greatest animated series (don’t at me), in which puberty is a literal monster, will be back for a second season soon with new characters voiced by Gina Rodriguez and David Thewlis.

The series, created by Nick Kroll (Kroll Show, The League) and Andrew Goldberg (Family Guy), follows the adventures of a group of tweens as they navigate pubescence and all the disgusting shit it brings. They’re voiced by a star-studded comedic crew, and I mean star-studdedmy boyfriend John Mulaney voices a tweenage Andrew, and Kroll plays himself, duh, Nick. Then there’s Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate, Jessi Klein—a bunch of brilliant folks playing confused children. Jane the Virgin’s Gina Rodriguez, and Lupin from Harry Potter (David Thewlis) will soon be added to this fucking fantastic show.

According to IndieWire, Rodriquez will voice a hottie soccer player on Missy’s (Jenny Slate) and Jessi’s (Jessi Klein) team, while Thewlis will portray a character called “The Shame Wizard.” In a press release, Netflix described the figure as “the Hormone Monster’s mortal enemy who haunts the kids, stoking their deepest shames,” and I could not be more stoked. Check him out:

Spooky! Netflix has yet to announce a release date for the new season, though it should drop at some point this year, which gives you plenty of time to prepare to relive the horrors of adolescence through animated monsters and gross cartoon realities.
