The Hills Is Coming Back Without Its Biggest Stars

EntertainmentTV

At the clusterfuck that was the VMAs last night, the stars of The Hills (a relic from an era in which teenagers actually still watched MTV) descended onto the red carpet and my nose was smelling a REBOOT. And sure enough a teaser aired later in the evening confirmed that the The Hills is indeed coming back to the channel a la the Jersey Shore reboot.

But there were some notable absences on the red carpet. Kristin Cavallari, Whitney Port, Lo Bosworth, and The Hills’ lead Lauren Conrad were missing. And while the entire cast of the reboot has yet to be confirmed by MTV (Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, and Audrina Patridge were all on the carpet, to name a few), Lauren Conrad is reportedly NOT coming back to shoot more episodes of The Hills, according to People, citing the fact that she’s in “a different place in her life.” People also reports that Kristen Cavallari is also not joining the show due to a contract with E!.

You might argue that The Hills returning without Lauren and Kristin (and TBD on Whitney) is not exactly a perfect reboot. All of which is to say that this new season of The Hills definitely includes the thirstiest members of the cast. But, hey, the rest is still unwritten?
