Has Colin Farrell Always Been in Everything?

Entertainment

I was watching the new teaser trailer for Dumbo, Disney’s upcoming “live-action” adaptation of the animated original that still features a ton of computer animation but ok, and I couldn’t help but notice that Colin Farrell’s in it.

Colin Farrell!

Bullseye from Daredevil!

Mr. Phone Booth!

Ol’…hot guy!

I feel like I’m seeing him everywhere lately. Is it just me? I mean, there was that Widows trailer, The Beguiled, that date I had on Saturday with this guy who kept talking about The Lobster, this BuzzFeed post for no one that tries to explain what’s happening in Macedonia using 14-year-old gifs from the movie Alexander…everywhere!

According to Wikipedia and IMDB, Colin Farrell’s been in a steady stream of anywhere from one to five films per year since his mid-’90s debut, with notable peaks in 2003 (the year of The Recruit, Daredevil, Veronica Guerin, S.W.A.T., and Intermission) and 2009 (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Triage, Ondine, and Crazy Heart). But that feels wrong. I feel like he’s in everything now in a way that’s more in everything than he’s ever been in everything before. Like, it really feels like he’s in everything, and he hasn’t always been in everything.

One woman’s take.
